This scenic woodland hike starts at Šoićeva Kuća (a historic mountaineering hut by the Lipovečka Gradna stream) and ascends through shaded forests, open meadows, and gently rising terrain towards Japetić, the highest peak of the Samobor Hills (879 m). Along the way you’ll pass through lush paths that offer varied landscapes — from forest tracks to grassy clearings — with rewarding views as you approach the summit. The route continues on to Planinarski dom Žitnica, a classic mountain lodge with terrace and refreshments, making it a great spot to rest and enjoy the surroundings. • Distance & Difficulty: Moderate route, around ~10–12 km (loop or out-and-back variants), with ~500 m elevation gain. • Terrain: Forest trails, meadow tracks, some moderate uphill sections. • Trail Markings: Well-marked and part of the local Samoborsko gorje hiking network. • What to Expect: Mixed woodland scenery, panoramic viewpoints near Japetić, and Planinarski dom Žitnica as a mid-/end-point with food and drink options (open mostly on weekends/holidays).
